5. Product Strategy

The Synaptika protocol defines how infrastructure is coordinated, how capacity is tokenized, and how economic commitments are enforced. But the protocol alone is not a product -- it is a foundation. Synaptika's product strategy distinguishes between the protocol's primary interface and the derivative products that consume its capacity.

The Synaptika Hub is the protocol's primary product -- the unified interface through which participants discover, provision, trade, and manage inference capacity. The Hub surfaces the protocol's primitives (nodes, pools, VPIs) as an accessible marketplace and control plane. It is the front door to the network for node operators, pool curators, VPI holders, and developers alike.

On top of the protocol, Synaptika and third parties can build derivative products -- applications and services that consume VPIs the same way any external participant would. These products do not require privileged access to the protocol; they interact with VPIs through the same APIs and capacity guarantees available to any holder. The protocol is designed so that derivative products are consumers of the network, not extensions of it.

The first derivative product Synaptika is building is the Synaptika Runtime -- an execution and orchestration layer for production AI workloads. The Runtime is described in detail in the Runtime page. Future derivative products will follow the same pattern: purpose-built applications that draw on the network's pooled inference capacity to serve specific use cases, each consuming VPIs as their underlying compute primitive.
